About Balat Toy Museum
Balat Toy Museum is a warm and nostalgic museum located in the historic Balat district of Istanbul. Founded in 2021 by Timur İnçoğlu, the museum brings together thousands of toys collected from many parts of the world and invites visitors of all ages to reconnect with childhood memories.
Designed for both children and adults, the museum highlights the imagination, joy, and cultural value that toys carry across generations.
A Rich Toy Collection
The museum displays more than 17,000 toys across themed sections. Visitors can see antique dolls, wooden toys, tin soldiers, diecast cars, LEGO sets, and detailed dioramas inspired by famous movie scenes.
One of the highlights is Turkey’s largest lead soldier collection. Traditional Karagöz and Hacivat puppets, along with ship, airplane, and motorcycle models, add variety and depth to the exhibits.
More Than a Museum
Balat Toy Museum offers more than exhibition spaces. After exploring the collection, visitors can relax at the café or browse the shop for souvenirs and small gifts.

The museum is located near well-known landmarks such as the Bulgarian St. Stephen Church, the Red School, and the Fener Greek Patriarchate. It is easily accessible from the Ayakapı stop along the Balat coastline.
With its friendly atmosphere and central location, Balat Toy Museum is one of the most enjoyable cultural stops in the area.
